Job Description

The Business Dev. Mgr. must have broad knowledge and understanding of the Nigerian business environment with emphasis on govt. contracting, food & hospitality businesses as well as a demonstrated ability to close deals. To succeed in the role, the individual must have the ability to develop and build long lasting relationships

Job Description/Requirements

· Produce business development & sales action plans which supports the company’s strategic objectives, achieving business development and sales targets and using initiative to take corrective measures as desired

· Identify potential clients in the target market and complete appropriate research on the prospective client’s business and needs

· Develop relationships with prospective clients, while maintaining existing client relationships

· Create contract-winning proposals for current and prospective clients

· Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate terms to stakeholders

· Ensure contracted product specifications are executed on-time and as agreed

· Ensure business development and sales target are met and exceeded on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis;

· Monitor industry developments and other statutory regulations in order to maintain compliance and maximize business performance;

· Develop and maintain an excellent and profitable rapport with key stakeholders such as clients, suppliers, community organisations, regulatory bodies etc.;

· Draft and review contracts as well as follow up on business pitches for closure;

· Provides ad-hoc and on-going decision support to the promoters by engaging in data analysis, risk/return analysis, research and market assessment activities for varying business scenarios;

· Perform administrative and customer service related tasks including but not limited to maintaining departmental files, preparing and making presentations for use in proposals, all activities leading to customer acquisition and onboarding of new relationships, and the handling of communications relating to routine customer (internal/external) inquiries;

· Prepare business development and research reports as well as other types of communications/materials designed to achieve business objectives;

· Prepare performance reports for executive management on a regular basis
