Full-Time Head of Sales (Trust Company)
Reports to: Managing Director
About Company: Our client is a Trust Company, the subsidiary of a leading Investment Bank in Africa.
Job Summary: This role will be responsible for the development and implementation of marketing and sales strategies which contributes to the organization’s market share, profitability, and related objectives. It will also oversee the building and maintenance of strategic relationship with clients across Africa.
A. Corporate Strategy
§ Drive the development, and iteration of the sales strategy for the Company.
§ Monitor implementation and progress achievement of all strategic initiatives and provide periodic updates on their status.
§ Develop business scenarios and highlight implications for the company.
B. Market Strategy Formulation and Execution
§ Oversees the formulation of strategies and plans to enable organisation secure profitable business relationships.
§ Oversees the identification of inherent operational risks, their short and long-term implications and advise management accordingly.
§ Oversees the monitoring insight on in industry trends, best practices, and product needs.
§ Drive and sustain profitability and growth of the trust services business
§ Management and oversight of a portfolio of trusts in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and the terms of governing instruments.
§ Effectively communicate and identify the need for investment, fiduciary, and planning solutions and strategies.
§ Responsibility for proactive client service, account growth, client retention and risk management
§ Ensure all client assets are correctly identified, allocated, protected and under full custody and control
§ Assist with fee reviews, negotiations, and fee collection targets.
C. Relationship Management
§ Builds and maintains business relationships by actively prospecting and marketing to potential clients.
§ Ensures the retention of clients by building trust and confidence in the organisation capabilities and stability.
§ Generate new business through referrals from external and internal sources and through expansion of business within current book of clients
§ Supervision of outreach to all clients and feedback from these clients to ensure they are satisfied
§ Oversees the Promotion of affinity schemes amongst clients to achieve greater loyalty and referrals.
§ Supervise the coordination and effective and efficient marketing, marketing campaigns and proposal efforts focused on key client segments to improve customer base and revenue.
§ Oversees the development of new products and the selection of appropriate strategies compatible with client’s investment goals and risk appetite.
§ Oversee due diligence relating to business opportunities conducted by the sales team and devise strategies to convert them into viable and profitable ventures.
§ Drive alliances with target partners to enable the organization leverage on their own capabilities to achieve its own strategic goals.
§ Drive delivery of marketing projects within defined scope, timelines, and cost as agreed in the project charters.
E. Project Management
§ Oversee the delivery of projects within defined scope, timelines and cost as agreed in project charters.
§ Ensure the organization realizes full value for its investments in strategic projects.
§ Lead the coordination and implementation of strategic projects to deliver predefined outcomes and benefits in line with the organization’s strategic objectives.
§ Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline
§ Master’s degree is an added advantage
§ Relevant Professional Certification
§ 5 – 7 years of experience in estate and financial planning, preferably working with high-net worth individual owners and/or private business owners
§ Strong Business Acumen
§ Excellent understanding of the local and global financial services industry
§ Excellent leadership and people management skills
§ Strong stakeholder management skills
§ Exceptional communication skills – written, oral, interpersonal, and business presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management, and staff
§ Demonstrated commitment to ethical standards and high level of integrity
§ Strong risk management skills
§ Proven experience in product development with impact on revenue.
§ Strong understanding of legal obligations and regulatory compliance
§ Able to establish strong, positive business relationships and work collaboratively and cross organizationally.
§ Complete knowledge of estates, trusts, agency accounts, and charitable accounts including legal, regulatory, financial and tax issues
§ Willing and able to travel
