Job Description/Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for IT asset management to ensure assets full lifetime cycle value is achieved
  • Manage strategic relationships with key IT Infrastructure product and service providers
  • Provide in-depth technical expertise for both tactical and operational initiatives
  • Assess the relative impact of IT industry trends on current and future enterprise infrastructure needs and projects
  • Interface with business unit managers to define infrastructure support initiatives and solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness
  • Analyse and predict trends and develop long-range plans designed to maintain cost-effectiveness
  • Participate in IT strategy planning activities
  • Responsible for designing and troubleshooting the bank’s network of IT services to meet the functional objects of the business
  • Develop the reporting schemes for vendor performance in areas that include quality, capacity, systems, and responsiveness
  • Ensure the infrastructure team is mitigating, monitoring, and managing infrastructure-related risks
  • Work closely with project team members line managers for time allocation and prioritisation
  • Manages a dynamic team of individuals, constantly searching for creative ways to elevate the capabilities of technology systems to meet business needs
  • Participate in the budget process

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A university degree or its equivalent qualification e.g. BSc/HND Computer Science/ Engineering etc.
  • Possession of relevant IT professional certification such as. CCNA, CISSP, CCNP, OCD, MCSD, MCSE, Sophos, Red Hat, Ubuntu, NetApp, etc. will be added advantages.
  • Minimum of 7 years working experience in IT, with a minimum of 3 years in a middle management position

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • At least 7 years of IT experience including managing teams responsible for architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management and infrastructure planning.
  • Experience in areas such as network design and administration, data center operations, database administration, and systems programming and administration
  • Strong management and people development skills
  • Understanding of ITIL practices
  • Ability to think logically and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage internal and external projects from inception to completion
  • Expertise in setting and managing customer expectations with sound service orientation and strong Customer focus
  • Skill in conceptualizing creative solutions as well as documenting them and presenting them to senior management
  • Experience implementing packages and working with vendors
  • Familiar with enterprise application implementation, integration, and management
  • IT Security Management. Thorough knowledge of networking and the Internet as well as all aspects of security, including authentication, access control, intrusion detection, firewalls, encryption, data integrity, disaster prevention, and disaster recovery
  • Network/Communications Performance Management
  • Proficiency in major operating systems (Windows, HP, Unix and all variance of Linux, etc)
  • Proficiency in the use of NetApp Storage Device, VoIP, CISCO routers and switches, Sophos Firewall, Mikrotik Switches.
  • Proficiency in the management of Temenos T24 Core Banking Application will be added advantage
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Results-oriented and responsive

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Compliance level of vendors to pre-agreed SLAs/OLAs
  • Level of customer satisfaction with IT service delivery processes
  • Number of user complaints regarding deployed infrastructure
  • Number and value of sanctions received as a result of unresolved network/communication issues
  • Lapses identified by internal and external audit
  • Unscheduled network and communications downtime
  • Internal customer satisfaction level with network/communication standards
  • Frequency of security lapses via intrusions, virus attacks, etc.
  • Cycle time to process requests
